Bridgeville Trunk-or-Treat!

On Sunday, October 23rd the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department welcomed goblins, ghouls, and community members to their third annual Trunk or Treat!  Ben Hornfeck, Karen Verduci, and Nicole Seitz represented the library as one of 20 – 30 community members and organizations to pass out treats to costumed children and their families.

With a trunk decked out as a colorful monster, the library greeted over 375 children and families from Bridgeville and surrounding areas.  Little tykes in strollers, pre-teens with pillow cases, and a multitude of children in-between received treats and informational library flyers.  Several little ones were excited to see Miss Karen from the library and Miss Nicole S. who have visited their schools, and we were more than happy to spread the word about our library programs with those who passed by.

Alongside the library “Monster” car were volunteers from the Friends of the Library.  The Friends gave away over 300 children’s books, but the highlight of their car may have been the electronic spider that jumped out and made children shriek with laughter.

BVFD’s Trunk or Treat was a fun day in the community, and the library looks forward to participating again next year!
