September is Love Your Library month! The goal of this countywide initiative is to raise awareness of and promote giving to libraries.
Thanks to the generosity of the Jack Buncher Foundation all funds raised throughout September are eligible for a percentage match.
Check out our list below of ways you can show love for your library in September.
Other ways you can Love Your Library
Attend library programs!
Check out books, DVDs, and more using your library card!
Did you know some of our funding is based on the number of people who use the library? Attending library programs and checking out items are numbers we track and report. The more our library is used the better it is for us! So don’t feel bad about checking out a lot of items! We love it!
Shopping on Amazon? Choose Bridgeville Public Library with Amazon Smile purchases.
When you shop at smile.amazon.com Amazon will donate to a non-profit of your choice!
Use Library eResources
eResources is another great way to support the library! You can check out our post on digital resources here.
Advocate for your library
It takes the voice of our users to help us grow and be able to continue to provide services. You may have seen it in the news that publishers are limiting our ability to provide access to eBooks. You can help libraries fight for continued access and funding by speaking to your representatives and seeing what they are doing to support libraries.
Become a Friend of the Library
Join our Friends group and support the library year round by helping out at activities and future fundraisers. For more information about our Friends and what they do check out their website!
Join our Library Board
Library board members are volunteers with a passion for libraries. This role encompasses many different roles, in addition to library advocacy. By being a board member you attend board meetings, help communicate to the media and the township, lobby to representatives, become familiar with library funding and budgets, as well as passing referendums. For more information about our library board visit this page on our website.
