Libraries are doing more than just housing books to circulate. Check out some of these unique items you can now get at the Bridgeville Public Library.
Here is a list of items you can checkout from the library, that are not books!
Be a tourist in your own city! Experience Kits provide library card holders with free admission to museums for two adults and six children (under 18), as well as virtual support materials and itinerary suggestions tailored to the site.
Kits can be checked out for one week and are available on a first come, first served basis. They must be returned to the Bridgeville Public Library circulation desk.
Everything you need for Storytime at home! Check out a Storytime Bundle, which contains 5 themed books, activity pages with rhymes, songs, early literacy tips and project ideas, and two shaker eggs. Stop by or call the library to see which themes are available!
Bridgeville Public Library started circulating board games in 2018. You can see the full list of items at our library in our Board Game Brochure. There are many more games you can order from throughout the county.
Board games checkout for three weeks.
Check out a 500, 750, or 1,000 piece puzzle from the library. Puzzles come in a variety of designs that are perfect for all fans. Request one through the catalog or stop by the library and check one out in person. Puzzles check out for three weeks.
Character Cake Pans
Bridgeville Public Library has character cake pans that you can check out. You cannot request the cake pans through the catalog, but you can come into the library to check one out. They are first come, first serve. Cake pans are checked out for a 1 week period, with no renewals, and must be returned inside the Bridgeville Library.
Please carefully wash the cake pans by hand in hot, soapy water before they are returned. Do not use abrasive materials or place pans in the dishwasher. A $1 fine will be charged if cake pans are returned dirty.

Bridgeville Public Library has several WiFi Hotspots patrons can borrow. You cannot order WiFi Hotspots through the catalog, you must either come into the library or call to put them on hold. Hotspots are checked out for a 3 week period, with no renewals, and must be returned inside the Bridgeville Library. To checkout a hotspot you must be aged 18+ and your library card must be in good standing.
Chromebook + Hotspot Bundles
Check out a Chromebook Hotspot bundle! Bundles check out for 3 weeks, with no renewals, and must be returned inside the Bridgeville Library. To checkout a Chromebook Bundle, you must be age 18+ and have a library card in good standing. Chromebooks are available on a first come, first served basis.
Nature Backpacks are a great way to explore nature with your child! Each backpack contains information and tools to discover more about a certain theme such as water, plants, wildlife, land, or culture. They are available from libraries across Allegheny County and Bridgeville Public Library offers the themes: Butterflies & Pollinators, Signs of Wildlife, and Water Conservation.
Nature Backpacks check out for three weeks and are renewable. You can also request a Nature Backpack through the library catalog.
American Girl Dolls
Each American Girl Doll comes in a case for easy transport. Accompanying the doll will be a hairbrush, some informational flyers, an American Girl Book, clothes, bedding, and a notebook for your child to write their fun adventures with the American Girl Doll down in.

Preschool Grab Bags
Preschool Grab Bags each have a different theme to help your child learn. Bridgeville Library’s grab bags are Birds, Transportation, and Shapes. There are many more you can order in from other libraries through the online catalog. Provided through the Allegheny County Library Association.
Bridgeville Public Library has a plethora of puppets you can borrow from the library. Puppets cannot be put on hold, and they must be returned at Bridgeville Public Library, and not in the book drop. You can view the entire listing of our puppets in the catalog.
