Summer Fun: Looking Back at Summer Programming

The library was the place to be for fun and educational activities all summer long. We kicked off our Summer Learning Program with a spellbinding performance by Magician Ray Lucas. Patrons of all ages had the opportunity to attend unique programs such as Radical Reactions with Alcosan, All Together Now with Buffie Bakes, Teen Nerf Wars, Tweentastic Diamond Painting, Learn About Our Local Bald Eagles, and an Author Talk with Eileen Enwright Hodgetts. In total, we held 123 programs, which were attended by 1,687 people! That’s 400 more people than last year!

Summer also offered the chance to take part in our Summer Learning Program for children and teens. Children tracked minutes read and if they read for ten hours, they received an invite to our End of Summer Carnival. Teens participated with our Teen Summer Challenge sheet. Every challenge completed offered a chance to win a Target gift card.

Our End of Summer Carnival was held on the library lawn with the help of teen volunteers. Children of all ages and their families celebrated the Olympic-themed event with crafts and fun outdoor games.

We’d like to thank everyone who took part in the Summer Learning Program or just dropped by the library for a visit! Be sure to check out our event calendar for our fall programs; registration is now open.
