Teen Advisory Board: Get Involved Today!

Are you a teen looking for ways to help the library while receiving volunteer hours? Well, look no further! Our Teen Advisory Board (TAB) application is open and will continue to remain open for any interested teens in 8th-12th grade.

Even though the libraries are no longer sisters, Bridgeville Public Library and South Fayette Township Library still collaborate in a variety of ways. One way that we work together is through TAB.

TAB helps Bridgeville Public Library and South Fayette Township Library by curating the Teen Unseen Bags that get checked out. Our TAB members create themes for the bags every month. Our teens also select the loot for people to keep and the activities to create within the bags.

We are super excited to announce that TAB will create, host, and lead programs at both of the libraries this coming Fall! Our TAB is getting ready for the Wicked premier by hosting a Teen After Hours program called, “The Wicked of Oz.” This event will be happening on Friday, October 25th starting at 6 PM at South Fayette Township Library.

If your teen would like to help with activities like this at the library, we would love to have them apply and join our TAB! Just click here for the application to join TAB.

If you (or your teen) aren’t entirely sure if you want to join, that’s okay! We have virtual and in-person meetings, and we would love for any one who is interested to attend to see what being a part of TAB is all about. Our TAB meetings are listed on the event calendar of both libraries and all they have to do is register for the link to our meeting or to know where the meeting will take place.

The TAB meetings take place twice a month on a Friday from 4-5 PM. The first meeting of the month is virtual to discuss and find materials for the Teen Unseen Bags. During our second meeting of the month, is where we plan the different programs that TAB helps with. Our next meeting is virtual to discuss the Teen Unseen Bag of September, which is sports themed. Here is a link to register to see what TAB is all about at our next meeting.
