Summer Learning and Literacy Road Trip

Get ready to read, learn, and have fun! The Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning has developed a Summer Learning and Literacy Road Trip that highlights Pennsylvania libraries and the resources available to support early literacy and learning.

All of the suggested activities align with the PA Early Learning Standards and can be done at home or on the go.

Bridgeville Public Library was featured as a stop on the Road Trip for its Kindergarten Readiness program, Family Storytimes, and Storywalk® Sensory Storytime. The library offers early learning and literacy programming year-round. Check the event calendar.

Another stop on the Road Trip is the Library of Accessible Media for Pennsylvanians (LAMP), a branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. LAMP offers special services to youth and adults in Pennsylvania who have difficulty reading because of a visual impairment, reading disability, or physical disability that limits the ability to hold a book and turn pages.

Be sure to check out the rest of the road trip and its many activities.
